Orchard workers pick the mature apples from the trees.

The Orchard Worker is responsible to the Orchard Manager for the efficient day to day completion of orchard tasks & activities. The Orchard Worker will ensure that the daily tasks as supplied by the Orchard Manager are achieved.

Pruning is carried out in the winter. Trimming the limbs down to the fruit blossom spurs that look the best. Prune the smaller branches where the young wood meets the old wood, remove branches that are too big or in the way, crossing other branches, and all rotten wood.

Orchard workers remove the marked and damaged apples and make room for the other apples to size up.

Transport Apple Bins (with fruit and empty) between Orchards, Coolstores and Pack house.
